We are pleased to announce that the Sfakia Sky Marathon now has two new Partner Races: Ursa Trail and Argithea Mountain Race. And both cases there are events organized by true mountain enthusiasts, like us. Competitions that we know, that have amazing routes, and the organization is at the highest level.
Sfakia Sky is an exceptional competition, right from the start. Or rather, even before the start. We gather in the town of Chora Sfakion, which is not where we start running. The starting point – Loutro – is a village that has no connection with the world by any asphalt road (or any road at all).
Sfakia Sky Marathon is a competition held on the last weekend of October, on Crete, Greece. The starting point is located on the southern coast of the island, about 70 km from the city of Chania. The most convenient way to get to Chania is by plane (many flights from various European cities) or by ferry from Pireus/Athens.

We are pleased to announce the start of registrations for the two-day mountain running event on October 26-27, 2024 organized by the “Arkalos” mountain running sports association under the auspices of the Municipality of Sfakia and the Region of Crete!
We defend the obvious: Nature, where we do the sport we love and organize our competition. By extension, social welfare and human dignity. No to the destruction of Sfakian madara, no wind turbines in the mountains, let them remain free! We join forces with the Sfakia Initiative and dedicate this year’s race to this cause!
